ในวันที่ 1 มิถุนายน 2565 คุณจักรพันธ์ ธนธีรานนท์ นายกสมาคมได้เป็นตัวแทนเข้าประชุม June Conference ร่วมกับรัฐบาลญี่ปุ่น และ อาเซียนสิบประเทศ เพื่อยืนยันการจัดโครงการเรือเยาวชน ฯ ปีนี้ในรูปแบบ SSEAYP online โดยรัฐบาลทุกประเทศ จะต้องส่งรายชื่อเยาชนผู้เข้าร่วมโครงการทั้งหมด 27 คน ภายในวันที่ 7 ตุลาคม 2565 และส่งผู้นำการสนทนา (ถ้ามี)เพื่อเข้าร่วมการคัดเลือกภายในวันที่ 27 กรกฎาคม 2565
ทั้งนี้ ทางรัฐบาลญี่ปุ่นได้สอบถามความเห็นในเรื่องการจัดกิจกรรมในรูปแบบ Metaverse มาใช้ในปีถัด ๆ ไป แต่ไม่มีประเทศใดตอบสนองต่อข้อเสนอของรัฐบาลญี่ปุ่น โดยนายกสมาคมให้ความเห็นว่า อาจเป็นเพราะเรื่อง Metaverse นั้นยังเป็นเรื่องใหม่และทางญี่ปุ่นไม่ได้ให้เวลาใตร่ตรองเท่าใดนัก แต่มองว่า การจัดในรูปแบบดังกล่าวน่าจะเป็นเรื่องที่ทันสมัยตอบรับกับสถานการณ์ดี เพียงแต่ว่ายังเห็นข้อจำกัดที่ Metaverse สามารถเติมเต็มจินตนาการผ่านการมองเห็นแต่ไม่สามารถเติมเต็มจิตวิญญาณความเป็นมนุษย์ได้ แต่ถ้าเมื่อใดที่เทคโนโลยีสามารถทำให้เราลิ้มรส ได้กลิ่น หรือสัมผัสจับต้องได้ เมื่อนั้นรูปแบบของโครงการคงจะเปลี่ยนไปอย่างสิ้นเชิง
ในฐานะที่สมาคมเรือเยาวชนนั้นเป็นตัวแทนของพี่น้องชาวเรือทุกคน รวมทั้งเยาวชนชาวไทยที่มีส่วนร่วมและให้ความสำคัญกับโครงการเรือตลอดมา สมาคมต้องการจะรับฟังความเห็นของศิษย์เก่าและผู้ที่สนใจเข้าร่วมโครงการทุกท่านเกี่ยวกับทิศทางของรูปแบบของโครงการเรือเยาวชน ฯ ในอนาคต เพื่อจะได้ส่งต่อเจตนารมณ์ของทุกท่านสู่คณะผู้จัดโครงการต่อไป โดยสามารถแสดงความเห็นได้ในกูเกิ้ลฟอร์มด้านล่างนี้
On June 1st 2022, Mr. Jakraphun Thanateeranon, the association president, represented ASSEAY in the SSEAYP June conference with the government representatives of Japan and ASEAN, to confirm that SSEAYP will be conducted online this year. The respective governments will have to hand in their list of 27 participating youths by October 7th 2022, and nominate facilitators (if any) for selection by July 27th 2022.
During the conference, the Japanese government asked for opinions regarding conducting the program in the Metaverse format for subsequent year. However, none of the countries responded favorably to the Japanese government’s proposal. The association president speculated that Metaverse is still a very new topic and the Japanese government did not allocate much time for consideration. The association president personally thought that such a format may be a modern format appropriate for the situation, but saw the Metaverse’s current limitations as something only able to fulfill the imagination through sight, but it does not fulfill the soul. However, when technology makes us able to taste, smell, and touch, then he thinks that the program’s format will be changed completely.
